| Cyclops Eye Music / Music Blog |  | | ADDITIONS... | | We figured we can't just sit around and wait for our labels' artists to get around to finishing their latest works, so we spent some time perusing the ithinkmusic community and added a few releases that caught our ears. Cyclops Eye Music has added 'with you' by Puch; 'ZZwweeii' from the Angelika Koehlermann label (featuring Villalog [http://www.villalog.com]); and Paradise Found's self titled album from the Dancing Turtle Records label. Frog Swallow Recordings chose to add 'Echoes' by Banco de Gaia because they found the concept of an ambient-prog-triphop full length re-work of the Pink Floyd classic too good of a concept to pass up. As our label artists (Don Himlin & Farmer Joe & The Ignorant Corpses), while hard at work (we're told), are not likely to have finished releases for at least a few months hence - we're sure to continue our ithinkmusic perusing and we can't imagine NOT finding some more interesting artists to add to our store. Who are Farmer Joe & The Ignorant Corpses? When inquiries are made at Frog Swallow Recordings, all one gets is nervous winks and unsure giggling. At best wildly speculative rumors about why the band remains so unknown are heard. One cannot even get an accurate count of how many albums they’ve done. One of the rumors had them starting the record company; though, to be fair, the source for that one was also convinced that there really is no Farmer Joe & The Ignorant Corpses, and that Frog Swallow Recordings is just a figment of a deranged imagination. Most were in agreement, though – FJIC has been around as long as they all could remember. Most bizarre, however, is the simple fact that despite releasing an uncertain amount of albums, not one of these releases has ever been sold. Up until releasing their works digitally, the band has never sold one FJIC album. They’ve never been on the radio. They don’t tour. They’re only public appearances have been unannounced performances thrown together at the last minute for the purposes of recording an album. They may not even be using they’re real names. They allow no photographs, only “artistic renderings” of their images. And then there’s the music. Composed and performed and recorded all at once (well, mostly). Near total improvisation. Go ahead – download a song. But beware – you’ll never be the same.
